Rincón de Guayabitos

Located in the heart of Guayabitos Bay just 40 miles north of Puerto Vallarta. This very attractive little fishing community offers North American and Mexican tourists miles of golden sandy beach and meals and accommodation at great prices.

Early in the morning you will find fishermen selling fresh fish on the beach and on most days their are vendors on the beach serving refreshing pineapple and coconut drinks, "fish on a stick" and all manner of jewelry and other goods. Venders here are pleasant and mild mannered and there is no sign of the high pressure time share sales people associated with many of the larger tourist destinations.

If you are looking for a pleasant winter climate in a small lay back community offering whale watching, jet skiing, wind surfing, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, live entertainment, great food and very affordable accommodation you will enjoy Guayabitos.

Local accommodation is still very affordable with prices starting at around 200 Peso/night. An attractive bungalow with beach access can be had for around 450 Peso/night. The majority of the low budget hotels and bungalows do not have websites as yet so a few examples have been included here for your convenience.

Bungalows Palmeiras - Frente al Mar has eight 4 person bungalows, five 6 person bungalows, a swimming pool, a bar and beach access. These units have roomy bedrooms, a dining area, kitchen and private bathroom and some also have patios and are well maintained by a very friendly staff. Eating Out
There are far too many good restaurants in Guayabitos to sample them all on a short vacation. We found two restaurants practically on our doorstep that we enjoyed very much.

While the La Pina Loca Restaurant is open all day we made it our regular breakfast stop. They serve great breakfasts in a clean and friendly atmosphere, the coffee is good and the freshly squeezed juice drinks are wonderful. The La Pina Loca Mini Super store next door is a great place to get fresh fruit and vegetables for those wishing to eat in.

For us, an evening would not be complete without a meal at the El Campanario Restaurant - Bar. This restaurant is so popular that you would be wise to make a reservation or arrive early. Dinner for would regularly be under 200 Peso and the food was truly incredible. Many customers got a great deal of enjoyment watching the chef expertly prepare each meal from scratch. The atmosphere was always friendly and it was a good place to take a friend or make new friends. Both restaurants are located in the same block as Bungalows Palmeiras.
